  • Hook Standard dry/terrestrial hook, 10-14
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Abdomen Red buzzer wrap (closed-cell foam)
  • Head Black ostrich herl (closed-cell foam)
  • Legs Black ostrich herl (fine rubber legs)
  • Indicator Orange or pink material (small foam or poly tuft)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base along the shank.
  2. Bind a strip of red foam at the 40% mark and pull it back to form the rear ball of the abdomen, then bind it down to segment.
  3. Figure-8 in a set of black rubber legs at the waist between the two body segments.
  4. Bind a strip of black foam forward and fold it back over the front to form the fat head, cinching to shape.
  5. Add a small orange foam tuft on top for visibility.
  6. Trim the leg rubber to length and the foam ends short, then whip finish at the waist.
