Reference Recipe
- Hook 3XL streamer hook, 4-10
- Thread Black 140 denier
Materials
- Cone Gold conehead (1)
- Tail Olive marabou with copper flash (one plume)
- Body Olive/brown variegated chenille (one strand)
- Hackle Grizzly dyed brown saddle (1 feather)
- Legs Barred brown/orange rubber legs (2-3 pairs)
How to tie it
- Slide the gold cone to the eye and mount the hook. Start thread and run it to the bend.
- Tie in an olive marabou tail one shank length long with a few strands of copper flash to each side.
- Bind in the hackle by the tip and the variegated chenille at the bend.
- Wrap the chenille forward to just behind the cone and tie off.
- Palmer the hackle forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns and tie off behind the cone.
- Add two or three pairs of barred rubber legs splayed along the sides.
- Build a collar behind the cone, whip finish, and cement.
