Reference Recipe
- Hook 3XL streamer hook, 6-10
- Thread Black 140 denier
Materials
- Bead Gold or black tungsten (optional) bead (1)
- Tail Olive marabou (one plume)
- Flash Olive Krystal Flash (6 strands)
- Body Olive dubbing + black hackle, twisted brush (as needed)
- Hackle Grizzly saddle (in the twist) (1 feather)
How to tie it
- Slide a bead to the eye if using one and mount the hook. Start thread and run it to the bend.
- Tie in an olive marabou tail one shank length long, with a few strands of flash to each side.
- Create a dubbing loop at the tail, insert dubbing plus a grizzly hackle laid flat, and spin the loop into a shaggy complex-twist brush.
- Palmer the twisted brush forward in touching turns, stroking fibers back with each wrap so hackle and dubbing intermingle.
- Tie off the brush behind the bead and pick out the body to a buggy, breathing profile.
- Build a thread collar, whip finish, and add a drop of head cement.
