How to tie it
Slide the cone to the eye, wrap 10-15 turns of lead behind it, and jam them into the cone for weight.
Tie in a marabou tail about one and a half shank lengths long at the bend and add a few strands of Krystal Flash.
Tie in a length of chenille as a body core and wrap it forward to just short of the cone to give the twisted body something to sit over.
Build the 'complex twist': lay two schlappen feathers and a few strands of flash into a dubbing loop, spin it tight, and wrap it forward in touching turns over the chenille. Spinning the feathers in a loop makes a dense, tapered, durable body that pushes water.
Stroke the fibers back with each wrap so they sweep rearward, then tie off behind the cone.
Tie in a mottled hen saddle and take two or three wraps as a soft, mobile collar, then whip finish behind the cone.
