Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Tube with trailing hook
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Tail Hot orange/yellow bucktail (long, past the tube)
  • Body Silver tinsel or chenille (full body)
  • Hackle Orange/yellow hackle (collar)
  • Eyes Bead chain or brass (one pair)

How to tie it

  1. Mount tube and tie in a long bright bucktail tail extending well past the tube.
  2. Build a body of flat silver tinsel or bright chenille toward the front.
  3. Wind a soft orange or yellow hackle as a collar and sweep it back.
  4. Tie a pair of bead-chain eyes at the front to add weight and flash.
  5. Form a neat head and whip finish.
