Tail/rear hackle Olive and black schlappen (2-3 feathers)
Flash Copper/olive Flashabou (a few strands)
Body Black/olive ice dubbing (as needed)
Collar Guinea or mallard flank, dyed (1 feather)
Head Cone or lead eyes (1)
How to tie it
Build a short wire loop trailer through the short-shank hook eye so the hook rides loose at the rear, then mount the assembly on a straight shank or tube and start thread.
At the back, tie in and wrap 2-3 turns of olive schlappen so the fibers splay as a mobile tail.
Add a few strands of copper flash, then dub a short thorax collar.
Wind a turn or two of black schlappen for a second webby band, sweeping the fibers back.
Tie in guinea or dyed flank and take 2 turns as a speckled collar, then stroke it back.
Seat a cone or figure-8 lead eyes at the front for weight and swing action.
