Before tying, chop three sections of 2mm foam (Tan, Brown and Flesh) with a large Chernobyl foam cutter and glue them into a stack with Foam Safe ZAP A GAP.
Start the Cream UTC 140 thread and wrap an underbody, then spiral the thread forward to about the two-thirds point of the shank.
Lay the foam stack on top of the shank and take two loose wraps. Angle the thread backward across the top of the foam, wrap again, and repeat down the shank to the rear, making the sections smaller as you go if you like. At the tail, carefully hop the thread off the hook. If the foam turns on the shank, leave it; it gets straightened and glued at the end.
Close the X: wrap the thread forward through each segment so every crossing is locked, compressing the foam further if you want. Clip and gently shape the tail, then straighten the body.
Knot three Natural Medium Rubber Legs together and super glue the knot or it will come undone. Tie the bunch in along the side of the shank so it sits just slightly shorter than the tail, then peel back one leg and trim the other two. Repeat on the far side to the same length, bite down with a tight wrap and anchor with a couple of wraps on the bare shank.
Tie in the White 2mm Foam indicator with a couple of wraps, then advance the thread to about one hook-eye length behind the eye.
Take one loose wrap over both the indicator foam and the sandwiched body foam, pull each section of rubber legs forward under it, then pull the legs apart and trim two of the three away on each side.
Lift all the foam, take some wraps right on the eye of the hook, sneak the whip finisher underneath and finish with a few wraps.
Trim the indicator foam close so it sits as a small white blob on top, then round the front of the head so it looks buggier.
Trim the back legs so they just barely touch the water: trim one, then draw the two together and trim so they match.
Glue the entire underside of the fly with regular super glue and let it air dry.
