Mount the short-shank egg hook, start thread at midshank.
Stack 3-4 colors of egg yarn (orange, pink, chartreuse) and lay the bundle crosswise over the shank.
Lock the bundle down with tight X-wraps. The yarn should flare up and out on both sides.
Gather all the strands straight up in one hand, pull firm, and cut across in a single scissor stroke slightly above the shank. The yarn springs into a ball. One cut, one egg.
The colors mottle together into a multi-colored egg. Optionally veil it with a wisp of white McFly Foam tied over the top.
