Eyes Painted lead dumbbell eyes, sized to hook (1 pair)
Belly White bucktail (1 clump)
Flash Gold or pearl Krystal Flash (few strands)
Back Chartreuse (or brown/tan) bucktail (1 clump)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base and lash the lead dumbbell eyes on top of the shank about one-third back from the eye with figure-eight wraps, so the fly rides hook-up.
Tie in a clump of white bucktail (belly) at the head, in front of the eyes, measured about 2.5-3 times the hook length; wrap it back and cross under and behind the eyes so it lies along the underside.
Add several strands of Krystal Flash the length of the wing.
Invert the hook and tie in the chartreuse bucktail (back) over the top, same length.
Build a smooth tapered thread head, leaving a little chartreuse thread tag as a 'nose'.
Whip finish and cement; the lead eyes give a jigging up-and-down action.
