Clouser Marabou Minnow

Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 3XL streamer hook, 1-6
  • Thread White 140 denier

Materials

  • Eyes Lead (dumbbell, mounted to ride hook-up)
  • Belly White uni stretch (bucktail, sparse)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands Krystal Flash)
  • Wing Chartreuse over white (marabou plumes)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start thread; lash a lead dumbbell at the 75% mark with figure-8 wraps so the hook will ride point-up.
  2. Behind the eye, tie a sparse clump of white bucktail as the belly, angling forward over the eyes, one and a half shanks long.
  3. Rotate or flip the hook; add a few strands of pearl flash over the belly.
  4. Tie in a white marabou plume, then a chartreuse plume on top, both reaching the same length as the belly, so the wing sits over the point.
  5. Wrap a smooth thread head behind the eye, whip finish, and snip.
  6. Coat the head with cement.
