Wing Tan arctic fox and a couple of strands of crystal flash
How to tie it
Start the thread (Orange, pink or tan) and figure-8 the bead chain onto the shank, leaving plenty of room in front of it for the head. Get the eyes tightly secured and square.
Run the thread back in touching turns, stopping just before the bend in line with the barb, then back up, building a reasonable thread underbody so the thread colour shows through the wing.
Pull the longest guard hairs from a sparse bunch of White arctic fox and measure it roughly one hook length beyond the bend. Trim the butts, seat it with a loose wrap then tighten down, and bind it forward, passing under the eyes with three or four wraps and spacing the wraps progressively closer together.
Put a drop of head cement on those wraps to make the tie-in more robust.
Flip the hook. Take a bunch of Tan arctic fox, pull out the underfur so it is nice and thin, measure it to roughly the same length as the tail, and tie it in ahead of the eyes so the butts cover both sides of the hook.
Add a couple of strands of crystal flash on top, tied in short so the ends blend into the wing.
Build up a pronounced hotspot head in the thread colour, whip finish and coat the head with head cement.
