How to tie it
Mount the dry-fly hook and lay a thread base to the bend.
Tie in a small bunch of deer body hair for the tail, about one shank-length long, splayed slightly for support.
Tie in a bunch of deer body hair by the tips at the bend to form the body, then advance the thread to the 65% point.
Wrap the deer hair forward as the body and tie it off, then spiral the tying thread back over the body in open turns as a rib and return it to the front.
Pull the remaining deer-hair tips up and divide them to stand as a no-hackle wing at the 65% point, posting them upright with thread wraps.
Dub or wrap a small thorax of synthetic carpet fibers around the wing base to help float the fly and support the wing.
Build a neat head, whip finish and add a drop of head cement.
