Body Golden yellow polar bear or substitute (macrame poly yarn, singed at the tip)
Wing Natural case (elk hair, unstacked)
Hackle Ginger hackle (one feather, wrapped at head)
How to tie it
Mount the hook and start yellow thread; bind a strand of golden-yellow macrame yarn along the shank with a stub extending one shank length past the bend.
Singe the trailing tip with a lighter and pinch it to a taper so it sheds water and floats.
Wind the thread back to the 70% mark over the bound yarn to smooth the underbody.
Clean a bundle of elk hair and, without stacking, tie it in as a wing with the tips just past the end of the yarn body.
Tie in a ginger hackle and take three or four turns in front of the wing; tie off.
