  • Thread black 8/0

Materials

  • golden pheasant tippet Orange/black golden pheasant tippet (small bunch for tail)
  • seal fur or floss Claret ice dub (body)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and run a base to the bend of the hook.
  2. Tie in a short bunch of golden pheasant tippet fibers for the tail, about half a shank long.
  3. Tie in fine silver oval tinsel at the bend for the rib.
  4. Dub or wrap claret seal fur/floss forward to just behind the eye to form a slim body.
  5. Rib forward with the silver tinsel in evenly spaced open turns and tie off.
  6. Tie in a soft black hen hackle and take 2-3 sparse turns, sweeping fibers back.
  7. Whip finish.
