Start the Tan thread and wrap a base back to the start of the bend.
Cut a strip of 2mm tan foam about a hook gap wide, round off the rear end, lay it on top of the shank and bind it at the bend with four or five firm wraps that do not cut the foam; add a wrap under then over the foam to keep it from spinning.
Advance the thread halfway to the eye and bind the foam again with several wraps, under and over as before, to form the middle segment.
At that same point seat a small tuft of black Snowshoe Hare fur with several wraps and snip the butts, leaving them a little long so they cannot pull out.
Lay a small tuft of natural Snowshoe Hare fur on top of the black, secure it with three or four medium wraps, and trim the butts.
Fold a two-inch piece of brown Rubber leg over, lay it against the side at the same point, take two loose wraps, position a leg off each side, then tighten.
Fold the foam forward over the tie-in area and take several wraps behind the eye to form a bulbous head.
Whip finish at the back of the head. Trim the foam overhang short, open the front legs out, and trim all four to length with the rear pair slightly shorter than the front.
