Reference Recipe

  • Hook 2XL dry hook (e.g. TMC 5263), 8-12
  • Thread Yellow 140 denier

Materials

  • Tail Yellow mcflylon (A short tuft of Antron yarn)
  • Underbody Yellow mcflylon (Superfine dubbing)
  • Body Yellow mcflylon (2mm foam strip)
  • Wing White uni stretch (McFlylon)
  • Legs Yellow/barred rubber legs (Sili Legs, two pairs)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start the thread, base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a short yellow Antron tail and secure a yellow foam strip at the bend, tag back.
  3. Dub a thin yellow underbody to the 60% mark, fold the foam over and bind for the rear segment.
  4. Add a white poly wing and a splayed pair of sili legs at that point.
  5. Dub a short front underbody, fold the foam forward and bind at the 85% mark, then add the front wing and leg pair.
  6. Whip finish under the front foam and trim the wing to about one shank.
