Legs Krystal Flash & Senyo's Shaggy Dub
How to tie it
Start the UNI thread Camel Tan and wrap a base back to where the shank meets the bend, then advance a little.
Pull, do not cut, a three-section strip from the Duck Brand EasyLiner Shelf Liner so the antennae pop free, and bind it at the rear with two wraps at the back section and two at the middle section, then a couple of wraps around the base of those to hold it to the hook.
Lash a strand of Krystal Flash on with two wraps and trim it short, then fold one section of Senyo's Shaggy Dub back and lash it in with two wraps for the rear legs.
Split a single strand of Bonnie Braid craft cord in half; tie one half in at the middle of the shank with two wraps, one on each side, pull it up, and take a couple of wraps behind and in front to build a short post.
Tie an oversized brown saddle hackle (a size 12-14 on this 16) to the shank at the post, touch it with super glue, take about five wraps forward and two or three back to the thread, catch it and pull out the end.
Tie in the second half of the Bonnie Braid the same way, two wraps in the middle and one to each side, and build a small front post.
Lash a strand of Krystal Flash in front of the front post with a couple of wraps, then one more piece of Senyo's Shaggy Dub the same way.
Use a half-hitch tool or pen to place a few wraps behind the eye under the head, straighten the fly, and finish.
Trim the wing at an angle, trim the underside flat so the fly sits flat on the water, and trim the legs to length.
