Classic Recipe

  • Hook 2XL dry-fly/terrestrial hook (TMC 5212), smaller sizes, 10-16
  • Thread To match 6/0-8/0

Materials

  • Tail Krystal Flash (few strands)
  • Underbody Ice Dub (as needed)
  • Body 2mm foam (1 narrow strip)
  • Wing White para-post yarn (1 small clump)
  • Legs Fine barred Sili legs (1-2 pairs)

How to tie it

  1. Tie in a short Krystal Flash tail at the bend.
  2. Tie down a narrow strip of 2mm foam at the bend, keeping proportions small.
  3. Dub a slim Ice Dub underbody forward.
  4. Segment the foam into 2 small body segments with thread wraps.
  5. Add a small white para-post wing and a pair of fine rubber legs at the segment.
  6. Finish behind the eye, whip finish and cement.
  7. Keep everything scaled-down for a smaller, chubbier attractor.
