- Hook 3XL streamer hook, 4-10
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Bead Gold bead (One tungsten bead sized to hook)
- Tail Black ostrich herl (One marabou plume, one shank long)
- Flash Pearl flashabou (4-6 strands Krystal Flash (optional))
- Body Black ostrich herl (Medium chenille)
- Hackle Black hackle (One saddle hackle, palmered)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (Small wire (optional counter-wrap))
How to tie it
- Slide the bead to the eye, mount the hook and start the thread behind the bead.
- At the bend, tie in a marabou tail one shank long and add a few strands of flash the same length.
- Tie in the saddle hackle by the tip and the chenille, then wind the thread forward to behind the bead.
- Wrap the chenille forward in touching turns and tie off behind the bead.
- Palmer the hackle forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns and tie off; counter-wrap the wire through the hackle to lock it if using.
- Build a small thread collar, whip finish behind the bead and cement.
