Attractor · Striped Bass · Bluefish · Jack · Tarpon · Snook · Redfish · Intermediate · 1 version
Reference Recipe
- Hook heavy saltwater/tarpon hook, 1/0-3/0
- Thread Red 210 denier
Materials
- Tail Tan/grizzly hackle (four arctic fox-and-hackle plumes, splayed)
- Flash Pearl flashabou (a few strands)
- Collar Tan carapace (arctic fox, palmered)
- Head Red buzzer wrap (thread)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start red thread, building a base back to the rear third of the shank.
- Pair four fox-and-grizzly plumes back to back so they splay wide and bind them in as the tail at the rear third.
- Add a few strands of pearl flash to each side.
- Tie in a bundle of arctic fox and palmer or fold it as a full collar so the fibers pulse and sweep back over the tail.
- Build a bold red thread head, taking wraps to flare the collar back.
- Whip finish and coat the head with UV resin.
