How to tie it
Start thread at the bend and tie in a small clump of white calf tail one shank length long, with gold Krystal Flash over it.
Tie in two to four hackle tips on top, splayed outward in a V. This kicking, splayed wing is pure Borski and gives the fly its fleeing-crab wiggle.
Tie in a clump of deer hair so the tips flare back over the tail as a collar, then let the butts spin.
Tie in a wide webby brown hackle by the butt, then spin two to three more clumps of deer hair forward to just short of the hook eye, packing each tightly.
Trim the deer hair head into a flat-bottomed wedge, then palmer the brown hackle forward through the trimmed head in 3-4 open turns so stiff fibers stick out as legs. Tie off.
Figure-eight the dumbbell eyes in at the head (fly rides point up), whip finish and cement.
