Classic Recipe

  • Hook Streamer, 3x long, 4-8
  • Thread Black or olive 6/0

Materials

  • Tail Marabou (full)
  • Body Chenille or dubbing brush (full)
  • Collar Marabou (palmered)
  • Head Tungsten cone or bead (1)
  • Flash Flashabou (in tail)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a tungsten cone onto the hook before mounting. Small end toward the eye.
  2. Tie in a full marabou tail at the bend with flash mixed in. The tail should be about one and a half shank lengths. Leeches are long and flowing.
  3. Build a full body with chenille or dubbing brush forward to the cone.
  4. Palmer a marabou feather through the body for the collar. 3-4 loose, open turns. The marabou fibers should wave freely in all directions.
  5. Tie off behind the cone and whip finish.
