Materials

  • Wire (rib) White ultra wire (small)
  • Ice dub (body) Pearl/white ice dub (small pinch)

How to tie it

  1. Start black kimono silk on an Ahrex LE810 and tie in small white wire at the rear for the rib.
  2. Tie in a pinch of pearl/white ice dub and dub a slim body forward toward the eye.
  3. Counter-rib the body with the white wire in evenly spaced open turns and tie off.
  4. Tie in a male black francolin shoulder feather by the tip, preen the fibers back, and take one or two wraps as a soft-hackle collar.
  5. Preen the hackle back, add tyer's wax, whip finish, and pop out the stem; lightly melt the wax with a cautery tool to finish the head (optional).
