  • Hook standard nymph/dry hook, 16-20

Materials

  • Abdomen White uni stretch (egg yarn (Antron))
  • Thorax White uni stretch (egg yarn cut and dubbed)
  • Eyes Black ostrich herl (small round rubber, one short section)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start white thread behind the eye, wrapping a thin base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a slim length of white egg yarn at the bend and bind it forward to form a smooth abdomen ending at the 60% mark.
  3. Fold a short stub of egg yarn back over the bend as a translucent tail and trim it stubby.
  4. Figure-8 a short section of black round rubber across the shank just ahead of the abdomen to form the two eyes.
  5. Snip a pinch of egg yarn into short fibers and spin it on the thread as a sparse dubbing.
  6. Dub a shaggy thorax over and around the eyes up to the hook eye, keeping it buggy.
  7. Whip finish; the milky egg yarn turns translucent when wet to match the natural.
