Loco Foam (foil-backed 2mm foam) Tiger beetle green (One strip, slightly wider than half a hook gape, four to five inches long)

Silly Legs Black with blue flake (One long strand, doubled, for the back legs)

Super glue Clear head cement (A drop at the bend and as needed)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base back past the hook point to the bend, then run the thread forward in tight spirals and back again in wider spirals to corrugate the shank so the foam and glue have something to grip. Leave the thread hanging level with the hook point.
Put a drop of super glue on the thread base at the bend. Fold the foam strip in half, foil side out, leaving about 20% of a shank length of the looped end projecting past the eye, and set it down on the shank.
Wet the thread with a touch of saliva (it stops the thread grabbing the foil), take one upright turn plus four or five more to anchor the foam at the bend, and square everything up.
Pull the foam back out of the way, dub a tight little ball of black peacock dubbing forward about 20-25% of the shank, end with bare thread at the front edge of the dubbing, fold the foam forward and take four or five straight wraps to close the first segment.
Repeat twice more for segments two and three, keeping the first two the same size and making the third slightly longer.
In the third segment tie in the black/blue-flake Silly Legs: lay the strand along the near side, back about to the hook bend, secure with a couple of turns, then fold it around and bind it on the far side. Fold the long ends back and clip them in your material spring so they stay out of the way.
Dub one more small ball up to the front edge of the foam, end the thread just behind the eye, wet the thread and bind the foam down one last time. Five segments total with a smooth dubbed underside.
For the wings, fold three strands of silver Silly Legs in half, cut the loop so all six are equal, lay one half across the last segment catching it at the middle of its length with a soft turn, position it and cinch down; tie the other half in the same way on the opposite side and spread them.
Cover the wing tie-in with a last small pinch of dubbing, whip finish behind the eye and add a touch of super glue.
Trim the rear legs to length (a little past the bend) and even up the wings.
