Tyer Recipe

  • Hook curved scud/pupa hook, 1XL, 12-16
  • Thread Wine/maroon 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Silver bead (1, sized to hook)
  • Body thread Wine (thread body)
  • Anti-static bag (ASB) strip Pearl grey anti static bag asb strip (shellback/rib)
  • Gills White uni stretch (small tuft)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the silver bead to the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Build a smooth, slightly tapered wine thread body running from behind the bead to the start of the hook bend.
  3. Tie in a thin strip of pearl anti-static bag at the bend and spiral-wrap it forward as a translucent rib to just behind the bead, then tie off.
  4. Tie in a small tuft of white gills right behind the bead.
  5. Build a neat thread collar and whip finish.
