Reference Recipe

  • Hook Saltwater streamer hook, 1/0-2
  • Thread White 6/0 or GSP

Materials

  • Belly White uni stretch (craft fur)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands Flashabou)
  • Back Olive, tan, or chartreuse material (craft fur)
  • Head Clear head cement (UV resin)
  • Eyes Silver/black material (3D stick-on)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start thread at the 30% mark behind the eye.
  2. Tie in a sparse clump of white craft fur pointing forward, then fold it back and bind to create a bulk-free tapered belly.
  3. Add a few strands of pearl flash along each side, no longer than the fur.
  4. Tie in a matching clump of colored craft fur over the top as the back, keeping the whole profile sparse and baitfish-slim.
  5. Wrap a smooth thread head, whip finish, and snip.
  6. Coat the head with UV resin, seat a 3D eye on each side, and cure.
