Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard dry-fly hook, 14-18
- Thread Rusty brown or dun 8/0
Materials
- Tail Dun microfibetts (microfibbets, split wide)
- Body Rusty brown (fine dry-fly dubbing)
- Wings Natural dun wing bud (CDC fibers, tied spent)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start thread at the bend.
- Split a microfibbet tail into a wide V, one shank length long.
- Dub a slim tapered body forward to the 65% mark.
- Tie in a bunch of CDC across the hook and figure-8 it flat to each side as spent wings.
- Add a touch of dubbing over the wing base to lock the spent posture.
- Whip finish behind the eye and snip.
