Tail Dun Microfibetts or tailing fibers, split into a Y (2-3 per side)
Body Rusty/olive Superfine dubbing (biot abdomen optional) (as needed)
Wing Light dun CDC (optionally over-laid with Z-Lon), tied spent (2 clumps)
Thorax Dubbing to match (as needed)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base and tie in tailing fibers split into a wide Y with figure-eights and a tiny dubbing ball.
Dub or wrap a slim tapered abdomen (rusty for a rusty spinner) over the rear two-thirds.
Tie in two clumps of light dun CDC (add a few Z-Lon fibers for extra flash/durability) crosswise and lash them flat and spent (horizontal to the shank, wings at right angles) with figure-eight wraps.
Dub a small thorax over the wing base with cross-wraps to lock the wings flat.
Check that both wings lie flush in the same plane, then whip finish a small head.
