Tag/tail Fluorescent red floss, wool or Antron (1 short tuft)
Body Peacock herl (2-3 strands)
Collar Natural or dun CDC (1 feather)
How to tie it
Slide a slotted tungsten bead to the eye of the jig hook and start thread behind it.
Run thread to the bend and tie in a short, bright tag of fluorescent red floss or Antron, trimmed stubby. The red tag is the classic attractor trigger.
Tie in 2-3 strands of peacock herl and wrap forward in touching turns to form a plump, iridescent body up to behind the bead.
Tie in a natural or dun CDC feather by the tip and take one or two wraps as a soft, mobile collar behind the bead, then sweep the fibers back.
Whip finish behind the bead and add a tiny drop of cement.
The CDC collar gives lifelike movement and traps bubbles as the jig drops.
