Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard dry-fly hook, 18-20
- Thread Olive or tan 10/0 or 8/0
Materials
- Body Olive, tan, or gray material (fine dubbing)
- Wing Natural dun wing bud (sparse CDC fibers)
How to tie it
- Mount the small hook and start thread at the 70% mark.
- Dub a slim, short body forward to the 70% mark with barely any dubbing.
- Tie in a sparse CDC wing, tips just past the bend, tented low over the body.
- Bind the butts and trim them square to a tiny head.
- Take a couple of tidy thread wraps to set the wing angle.
- Whip finish behind the eye and snip.
