- Hook Curved emerger hook, 14-18
- Thread Olive or dun 8/0
Materials
- Trailing shuck Amber vinyl rib medium (sparse Z-lon)
- Body Olive/gray material (fine dubbing)
- Rib Fine gold (wire)
- Loop wing Natural dun wing bud (CDC fibers)
- Thorax Gray flotation (dubbing)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start thread at the 70% mark.
- Bind a sparse amber shuck at the bend, half a shank long.
- Dub a slim tapered abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
- Rib forward with fine gold wire in 5 open turns and tie off.
- Tie in a bundle of CDC by the butts pointing forward, then fold the tips back over the thorax and bind them down to form a standing loop wing.
- Dub a small thorax to cover the tie-down and prop the loop.
- Whip finish behind the eye and snip.
