- Hook Standard nymph hook, 14-18
- Thread Brown 8/0
Materials
- Tail Pheasant tail (4-6 fibers)
- Body Pheasant tail (fibers wound)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Flashback/wingcase Pearl flashabou (Mylar tinsel)
- Thorax Peacock ice dub (herl)
- Legs Natural dun rubber legs (CDC fibers)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start thread mid-shank, then wrap to the bend.
- Tie in a short pheasant tail tail, half a shank long.
- Wrap the pheasant tail fibers forward as a slim abdomen to the 60% mark and secure.
- Counter-wrap the copper rib in 5 open turns and tie off.
- Tie in a strip of pearl Mylar and a couple of peacock herls, then wrap a plump thorax with the herl.
- Fold a pinch of CDC along each side as legs, then pull the pearl flashback over the top and bind at the eye.
- Whip finish and snip.
