Abdomen Turkey biot, rusty brown (color to match) (1)
Underwing CDC plume, light dun (2 feathers)
Overwing Krystal Organza + poly yarn, dun (small clump each)
Thorax Superfine dry-fly dubbing, rusty brown (1 pinch)
How to tie it
Tie in a small bunch of microfibetts at the bend and split them into a tail about one and a half shank lengths long to balance the spinner flush on the film.
Tie in the turkey biot by the tip with the notched (solid) edge facing up, add a drop of cement on the shank, and wrap forward to the 65% mark for a clean segmented abdomen. Why: a biot body doesn't swell when wet, so it holds a slim spinner profile.
Tie in two CDC plumes plus a pinch of Krystal Organza and a strand of poly yarn about two eye-widths back from the eye, all pointing forward.
Figure-eight the CDC/Organza/poly out flat to each side as spent wings.
Dub a slim rusty-brown thorax with figure-eight wraps to lock the wings, and whip finish behind the eye.
