- Hook Standard dry-fly hook, 14-18
- Thread Olive 8/0
Materials
- Abdomen Olive or tan material (Goose biot)
- Wing Natural dun wing bud (One or two CDC feathers)
- Thorax Brown permanent marker (Fine dubbing)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and run a thread base to the bend.
- Tie in a biot by the tip and wrap it forward to the 70% mark for a slim, segmented abdomen.
- Stack one or two CDC feathers and tie them in as a down-wing tented over the body, extending just past the bend.
- Trim the CDC butts and clean up the tie-down.
- Dub a small brown thorax in front of the wing to cover the wraps and suggest the head.
- Whip finish behind the eye.
