  • Hook Standard dry-fly hook, 18-20
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Tail Dun microfibetts (Split microfibbets)
  • Abdomen Olive ostrich herl (Goose/turkey biot)
  • Wing Dun microfibetts (CDC feather)
  • Thorax Olive ostrich herl (Fine BWO dubbing)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a few dun microfibbets and split them into a wide V tail using a dubbing ball or figure-8 wraps.
  3. Tie in an olive biot by the tip and wrap it forward to the 65% mark to form a segmented abdomen.
  4. Tie in a CDC wing standing upright at the front of the abdomen, reaching about one shank long.
  5. Dub a plump olive thorax around the base of the wing, figure-8ing under and behind it to prop the wing up.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye.
