Nymph · Carp · Intermediate · 1 version
Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard wet/nymph hook, 8-12
- Thread Rust 8/0
Materials
- Bead Copper bead (Brass or tungsten bead)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (Fine wire)
- Body Rust-brown material (Hare's ear dubbing)

How to tie it
- Slide a copper bead to the eye and start the thread behind it.
- Tie in fine copper wire at the bend for the rib.
- Dub a slim, buggy body forward to a bead's width behind the bead.
- Counter-wrap the wire forward in 4-5 evenly spaced turns and tie it off, then helicopter the tag to break it.
- Tie in a partridge or hen feather by the tip, take 1-2 turns for a sparse, breathing collar, and bind the stem.
- Build a thread collar against the bead, whip finish, and pick out a few body fibers.
