How to tie it
Mount the hook, start thread, and run to the bend.
Tie in a split tail of stiff dun hackle fibers a full shank long, divided with a small dubbing ball.
Tie in a stripped grizzly quill and wrap a clean, segmented gray abdomen to the 65% mark.
At the thorax, tie in and wind a grizzly hackle 5-6 turns, then trim the top and bottom flush - AK Best's trick that leaves spent wings sticking straight out each side.
Dub a slim gray thorax over the base, figure-8ing to splay the wings flat.
