Classic Recipe

Materials
- Tail Grizzly or wood duck fibers (3, short)
- Body Tan-gray dubbing (slim)
- Rib Fine wire (spiral)
- Wingcase Dark turkey (folded)
- Legs Partridge (sparse)
How to tie it
- Start tan-gray thread and lay a base to the bend.
- Tie in 3 short grizzly or wood duck fibers as a tail.
- Catch in fine wire, then dub a slim tapered body forward to the 65% mark and rib it with 5-6 open wire turns.
- Tie in a section of dark turkey over the thorax to be folded forward as a wingcase.
- Dub a slightly fuller thorax up behind the eye.
- Fold the turkey forward over the thorax and bind it as the wingcase.
- Tie in a few sparse partridge fibers each side as legs, then whip finish and cement.
