Seat the bead against the eye, start the Black thread behind it and lay a short base back along the shank.
Cut the green Acrylic Hair Band at an angle, catch it in and stretch it as you bind it back to where the thread hangs at the barb, then bring the thread forward.
Wrap the hair band forward in touching turns. Tension sets the thickness, and a dark thread shows through as a dark centre. Take one last wrap, hold it tight and bind with several firm wraps before releasing, then pull the tag tight and trim close.
Dub a small thorax of Olive Dubbing.
Strip the fluff from a Partridge feather and most of the barbs from one side. Catch the tip in hackle pliers to stroke the barbs back, tie the feather in by the tip and snip the excess.
Wrap the partridge forward with the pliers, taking the last full wrap, and bind it down; trim the stem.
Add a small pinch of Olive Dubbing for the head, just enough to hide the thread, sweep the hackle back, and whip finish.
Put a drop of head cement on the bead and let it run down into the thread.
