Hackle Grizzly & brown mixed (oversized, 4-5 turns)
How to tie it
Mount the hook, start thread, and run to the bend.
Tie in a brown hackle by the tip and a length of fine gold wire at the bend.
Dub a slim tan body forward to the 70% mark.
Palmer the body hackle forward in 5-6 open turns, then counter-wrap the wire through it to lock the stem. The wire keeps trout teeth from unraveling the palmer.
Optionally tie a sparse down-wing of deer hair over the body, tips to the bend.
Wind an oversized mixed grizzly-and-brown collar hackle, 4-5 turns, for a high-riding variant float.
