Thread Tan or olive to match 8/0 (70 denier)

Trailing shuck Amber/olive Antron, sparse and rough (small clump)
Body Sparse rough Antron dubbing, tan or olive (1 pinch)
Underwing Sparse Antron (small clump)
Overwing Mottled partridge or grouse (1 feather section)
Thorax Peacock herl (1-2 strands)
How to tie it
Tie in a sparse, rough Antron trailing shuck at the bend, about half a shank length.
Dub a sparse, rough Antron body forward to the 65% mark, leaving it scruffy so it traps an air bubble in the film.
Tie in a small clump of sparse Antron as an underwing, then a short mottled partridge or grouse overwing no longer than the hook shank. Why: the short wing plus air-trapping Antron imitates a caddis just breaking out of its pupal shuck.
Wrap a peacock-herl thorax to add float and a buggy head, then whip finish behind the eye.
