Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Standard nymph/emerger, 18-22
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Tail hackle fibers Blue dun tail hackle fibers (small bunch)
  • Abdomen dubbing Olive-brown fine dubbing (small)
  • Wingcase hackle fibers Blue dun tail hackle fibers (small bunch)
  • Thorax dubbing Olive ice dub (small)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and run a base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a short bunch of blue-dun hackle fibers as a tail at the bend.
  3. Dub a slim tapered abdomen forward over the rear two-thirds of the shank.
  4. Tie in a bunch of blue-dun fibers pointing forward over the eye for the emerging wingcase/legs.
  5. Dub a slightly fuller olive thorax up to behind the eye.
  6. Pull the wingcase fibers back along the sides as legs, secure, and whip finish.
