Tyer Recipe

  • Hook standard wet fly, 10-14
  • Thread black 8/0

Materials

  • peacock herl body Iridescent green peacock herl (2-3 strands)
  • hair wing White uni stretch (sparse clump)
  • hackle Brown hackle (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and run to the bend.
  2. Tie in two or three peacock herls and twist into a rope; wrap forward to form a full body, stopping short of the eye.
  3. Tie in a sparse white hair wing over the body, tips reaching the hook bend.
  4. Wind a brown hackle collar in front of the wing.
  5. Build a small head and whip finish.
