Tyer Recipe

  • Hook standard dry fly, 12-16
  • Thread brown 8/0

Materials

  • fur dubbing body Gray/tan dubbing (thin body)
  • mottled turkey quill wing Brown veevus body quill (1 tent-style section)
  • hackle Brown hackle (1-2 feathers)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and lay a base to the bend.
  2. Dub a thin gray-tan fur body forward, stopping short of the eye.
  3. Tie in a mottled brown turkey quill section, folded tent-style over the body, tips at the bend.
  4. Wind a brown hackle collar in front of the wing.
  5. Build a small head and whip finish.
