Classic Recipe
Hook Salmon single, 6-10
Thread Black 6/0
Materials
Tail Red hackle fibers (small)
Body Peacock herl (full)
Wings White goat or calf, split and angled back (2, fluttering)
Hackle Brown hackle (sparse collar)
How to tie it
Start black thread on the salmon single and lay a base to the bend.
Tie in a small bunch of red hackle fibers as a tail.
Tie in 3-4 peacock herls, twist into a rope, and wrap a full body forward to the thorax.
Tie in two small bunches of white goat or calf hair, split them into a V and angle them back at 45°. The split wings flutter on the swing like nothing else.
Wrap a sparse brown hackle collar and sweep the fibers back.
