  • Hook Heavy wide-gap jig/carp hook, 1-4
  • Thread Pink 3/0

Materials

  • Eyes Gold / yellow material (Medium sparkle dumbbell eyes)
  • Tail Worm brown (Ultra chenille)
  • Tail hot spot Orange permanent marker (UV paint)
  • Body Lime olive material (Speckled chenille)
  • Collar Speckled yellow chartreuse material (Coq de Leon hen saddle)
  • Thorax / head Tan carapace (UV Ice Dub)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start the thread mid-shank, then lash the sparkle dumbbell eyes near the front so the fly rides hook-point up.
  2. At the bend tie in a length of worm-brown Ultra chenille tail, one shank length long, and singe or taper the tip.
  3. Touch a dot of orange UV paint on the tail base as a hot spot and cure it.
  4. Wrap speckled lime-olive chenille forward to just behind the eyes for the body.
  5. Wrap a soft Coq de Leon hen saddle as a sweeping collar behind the eyes.
  6. Dub a tan UV Ice Dub thorax and head around and in front of the eyes.
  7. Whip finish and pick out the thorax so it looks buggy.
