Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard saltwater flats hook, 4-8
- Thread Pink 3/0
Materials
- Eyes Silver metal tape (Bead-chain or lead dumbbell)
- Tail Tan / pink rabbit (Short zonker strip)
- Flash Pearl flashabou (Few strands Krystal Flash)
- Body Pearl / pink material (Diamond braid or pearl braid)
- Wing Tan craft fur / rabbit (Sparse clump)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start the thread near the eye, lashing bead-chain or dumbbell eyes on a quarter shank back from the eye.
- Run the thread to the bend and tie in a short tan rabbit strip tail, one shank length long, with a few strands of pearl flash.
- Tie in pearl braid at the bend and wrap it forward in touching turns to just behind the eyes, building a slim shiny body.
- Invert the hook so it rides point-up, then tie a sparse craft-fur or rabbit wing over the top, extending to the tail tip.
- Take a few thread wraps in front of the eyes to cock the wing up slightly.
- Whip finish a neat head and cement.
- Keep everything sparse. A bonefish fly should be lean and land soft.
