Reference Recipe
- Hook 1XL wet/nymph hook, 8-12
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Body Black / chartreuse / yellow material (Chenille)
- Legs Barred / white rubber (Two to three pairs round rubber legs)
- Hackle Grizzly (optional) hackle (One collar feather)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start the thread at the 75% mark, laying a base to the bend.
- Tie in a length of chenille at the bend, leaving the thread hanging at the 75% mark.
- Wrap the chenille forward in touching turns to the 75% mark and tie off, leaving room behind the eye.
- Figure-8 the first pair of rubber legs at mid-shank so they splay perpendicular to the hook, then add a second pair just ahead of them.
- Pull the legs back and forth and take a few thread wraps to fan them into a spider so they twitch on their own.
- Build a small thread head behind the eye and whip finish.
- Trim all legs to a shank length each side for maximum wiggle.
