Bubble Back Emerger-Beadhead

Reference Recipe
- Hook Curved scud/emerger hook, 14-18
- Thread Olive or brown 8/0
Materials
- Bead Gold or black bead (1, sized to hook)
- Tail/trailing shuck Amber vinyl rib medium (a few Antron fibers)
- Body Olive or brown material (fine dubbing)
- Rib Fine copper (wire)
- Bubble back Clear/pearl material (Antron or flash pulled over)
- Thorax Dark permanent marker (peacock or dark dubbing)
How to tie it
- Slide the bead to the eye, mount the curved hook, and start thread.
- At the bend tie in a short amber Antron trailing shuck, no longer than half a shank.
- Bind in the copper rib and a strand of pearl Antron for the bubble, leaving both at the bend.
- Dub a slim tapered body forward to the 70% mark.
- Rib the copper wire forward in 5-6 turns, then dub a small dark thorax behind the bead.
- Pull the pearl Antron over the top as a shiny air-bubble back, tie it down behind the bead, and trim.
- Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
