Dubbing blend: light hare's ear mixed with tan UV Ice Dub Light hare's ear / tan (Two or three applications for a tapered body)
Wire, brassie Red wire (One length for the rib)
Wapsi Super Bright dubbing Peacock (add a touch of purple if you like) (A small pinch for the collar)
How to tie it
Slide a 2.3 mm gold slotted tungsten bead onto a #16 jig hook, twisting it so it seats correctly down to the eye, and mount the hook.
Start dark brown 14/0 thread behind the bead and wrap back to the bend.
Tie in a small clump of Coq de Leon fibres as a tail roughly one shank-length long and cut the excess off.
Tie in a length of red brassie wire at the rear for the rib.
Blend light hare's ear dubbing with tan UV Ice Dub and dub the body in two or three passes, building a distinct taper from thin at the rear to thicker at the front, stopping short of the bead.
Rib the body with four or five evenly spaced turns of red wire, tie it off behind the bead and break the tag free.
Dub a small collar of Super Bright peacock dubbing right behind the bead.
Whip finish with four or five turns, clip any over-long collar fibres, then brush the body out with a dubbing brush the way you would a Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear.
